College Football Picks Week 9

We had another winning week last week as the picks went 7-3 to bring us to 56% on the year!

Toledo +7 – Thursday
Yes, Toledo is not as good as they have been but getting 7 points from W Michigan is too many in this one.  Their home loss last week to Buffalo was very misleading as the Rockets led 17-10 before surrendering 21 unanswered points.  They averaged 5.5 yards per play to 4.4 for Buffalo and were 1/12 on third downs.  This ML deserves a little sprinkle too.

Ga Southern +10 – Thursday
The loss of RB Jalin Moore is really going to hurt App St the rest of the year and especially tonight.  App St has a great defense but I still think Ga Southern will be able to run on them.  This feels like a much closer game than 10 points.

La Tech/FAU Over 58 – Friday
Both teams love to score and there won’t be a lot of defense in this one.  This total should be closer to 70.

Florida State +17
We are getting to the time of year where I like to start buying first-year head coaches.  Usually, the first half of the season there can be an adjustment period and then around Halloween is when I will start to buy in.  Sure enough, we have seen that with Nebraska, UCLA and FSU.  They all started out rough but now are all rounding into form to a point where I like to play on them.  The talent on FSU will keep this under 2 TD’s.

Houston -7
I can’t remember in my life a worse 7-0 team.  USF has squeaked out wins against bad teams in Tulsa, ECU, Uconn, and Illinois and was outgained by over 175 yards at home vs Georgia Tech.  They are a complete fraud and will get beat down by one of the best young offensive minds in the game in Kendal Briles.  This will get ugly.

Missouri -6.5 & Over 55
The most overrated team in the country is going to get exposed against a much better Missouri team.  Missouri is 0-3 in SEC play and really needs this win.  The Tigers run defense is underrated and if Kentucky can’t run the ball they are in big trouble.

California +11.5
When Cal doesn’t turn the ball over they are actually a pretty good team.  Unfortunately for them, they have turned it over a lot this year.  I am betting on them taking care of the ball and keeping this one close

Iowa St -3.5
I really like this Iowa St team and especially Matt Campbell.  Too bad he will probably be leaving soon for a bigger job.  The defense is stout and the just don’t seem to give up big plays.  They will hold the Tech offense in check and win comfortably.

Texas A&M +2
The A&M run defense is stout as the held Kentucky to 70 rushing yards on 2.3 yards per carry and Miss St is a running team.  The wrong team is favored here.
