I love the NFL draft weekend but I must admit that I am not a fan of this whole Thursday night thing they have going on now. I used to love getting up on a Saturday morning and for 2 days it was all football. It’s like for one weekend in the Spring you get reminded of what football season is like and then its gone till Labor Day. But now I just get a reminder of how shitty Thursday Night Football is and not how awesome doing nothing but watch football on Saturday can be. But still the Draft is pretty cool and I will watch pretty much every minute of it.
The more I get of Baker Mayfield the more I want in my life and I would love to see my Cardinals somehow figure out a way to get him to Phoenix. He is a true gunslinger in the Brett Favre mold (which makes the picture even that much cooler). He is cocky, brash, athletic and a pretty damn good QB. I am far from an OU fan but Baker has been must see tv and I hope that continues in the NFL.
I cant remember a time in my gambling life where I saw the odds move as much on really no groundbreaking news like we have seen in the last 24 hours with the odds on Baker Mayfield going #1 overall. Yesterday 5dimes had the odds at +525 for Baker going #1 to the Browns and today it is at -190 and I just saw betus post -900! So for a gigantic move like this, you would think that Browns GM John Dorsey must have come out and publicly backed Mayfield or said something disparaging about Darnold, right?. Nope, that didn’t happen. What did happen was Adam Schefter went on ESPN and simply reported that people around the league believe Mayfield will be the #1 pick.
